My feet totter along the path of the unusual...which is probably why I have the partner I do, Jonathan. Throw in a mutt, piles of books and art makings, and there you have it.

Tell us more. What happened?
Oh Roger...she was old and in failing health this past year. Several friends suggested it was time to put her down. Couldn't do it...each time she saw me her eyes showed such love...and she would wobble over for a scratch behind the ears, or more likely a treat. But...got home from work and knew instantly she was almost gone. Our vet was closed for the nite. Could have, maybe should have, taken her across town and ended it. Again, I simply could not. So for a few hours I hugged her and let her know what a special girl she had been all these years. Then she put her head in my hand...and was gone.
Hard to explain the feeling...just a deep black hole. I try to reach out of it...and it sucks me back in. Time...best doctor around.
Glad you are home safely...tell me everything! ;-)
