Ed Giecek Envelope 15 Nov 2005
A yuck wet, cold, windy day...well, until the post came. Could have been a blizzard and I'd be smiling cuz mail from Ed is so way cool. That the packet was crammed with more and yet more goodies had me doing a Celtic jig.
If you like Celtic, try Run Rig. But I just put on my new bootleg Dylan (another gift from Ed), listened to the banjo picking and Dylan pouring on the soul. Something I miss about most new groups...lyrics that say nothing. Sometimes a nice rhythym but music should offer more.
Talked with Jon at the Cape (Truro) earlier...all the guys arrived and are doing their thing. Which at this job is turning a client's home into what they pictured in their mind. When it's done, Jon will make sure it's all gleamy new.
Not an easy task, working with and in part "reading" what a client really wants. Jon excels in this.
So tonite it's a grilled cheese sandwich and split pea soup. I tend to go more veggie when on my own. Since there is little entertainment-wise in Truro, Jon took his computer. So it really looks bare in his side of the computer room and I really do feel "on my own." Luckily, I've managed to learn to manage quite well during these times. I actually hear a bird pecking on the windowsill and know to check the feeder. New books ready to dive into...and an overflowing file of clippings ready to be set to paper.
Oops, that glob of glue on yer face was not intended...but do you mind rubbing your cheek against this cutout here? We do recycling here.
Well, wherever you are, hope the plumbling is working. We don't want any accidents there! Peace to each of you...and hope your feet are tapping to the sound of music. Surrender to the night...surrender to the light.

Like i said over at Flickr-Ed's envelopes are always a treat. Mmm. Cheesy taost and pea soup. Sounds yummy. Not sure what we are having tonight. We had egg and chips yesterday so it better be something healthy! Waiting for Archie's animation to be on Blue Peter , a BBC childrens programme that started when i was a lad. I think its the longest running show on the telly over here. All new presenters though ofcourse. Hopefully they wont cut his animation out due to time. Itsa live show so that might happen they said. Talk about keeping you on tenter hooks! he got his Blue Pter badeg anyway so gets free admission into lots of museums and zoos etc. Its made of rubber so can print with it too! Hazel said "Better keep it away from Dad!"
Michael, you must be so tickled at how well Archie's animations are being received! Sure hope it gets played on Blue Peter...definitely fun and a feather in his cap (and portfolio!). You wouldn't dare use his badge for a stamp!...er, would you? ;-)
It was also nice to catch a few of your ski lesson pics on your site. I've never heard of slopes made from those tied-together thingys.
Hi to all!
Jill has to go away for dollops of time. Since her USA visit - she's been away a couple of nights in London at a conference.
I like it for short periods - I get lots done - but then I start missing her and feeling lonesome.
I definitely feel cheerier when she's around.
The books arrived yesterday and so yours should be in the post today. Don't know how long they'll take to cross the pond though.
Happy Cheese and Peas
Wow, Roger, that was quick! Thanks so much!
As, seems like you and and Jill are always off to somewhere...business or holiday. That can be an advantage though...always new things to share and apart just enough to realize how nice it is when you are together!
I don't sleep well at all when Jon's away...apparently he is a noisy creature and I fancy his bluster! lol
Congrats again on your new book...between you & Michael it has to be top notch.
Take care!
Archie did get his 10 seconds of fame on Blue Peter which he was chuffed about ofcourse and especially as they linked him with the next bit of film about Pixar studios! It was also great for Archie to hear Rogers Poem the next morning being read out on childrens TV. I missed as i was upstairs brushing my teeth. Roger missed it too but hazel hopes to get a tape of it from collage as they have a tape machine running ( and walking) nost of the day and night for people to order such things. Very handy!
Wow, that is just tremendous, Michael. Hoorah for Archie!
And I know it must have been a treat for him to listen to Roger...hope you get to hear it too.
Books on the way...wish you could have autographed them too, lol. It's so neat when friends get published. But will be quite happy just to look at your illustrations.
Jon's home again...out for our fav Vietnamese soup place, then a walkabout to some nifty little stores. Found a few Christmas gifts in almost each one so at least a start!

Hi, Roger!!! I'm fine but busy and work work! The books arrived...thank you so much! There's something about "Except for Billy!" I just love...but I haven't finished reading them all yet. I'll be over to your site soon to find out the latest.
